This weekend we celebrate those brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation.  Did you know that Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day? Did you know that it was first observed on May 30, 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery?

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the start of the American Civil War.  We are in the process of posting all of our Civil War records on our website.  So far, the Compiled Military Service Records of Union soldiers who served in Delaware regiments and photographs of soldiers  are available.

The Archives houses materials relating to Delaware and her proud soldiers from the Revolutionary War to the Vietnam War.  Why not stop by and take a look for yourself.
