It’s been a while since we’ve highlighted processing and digitizing activities at DPA, and that’s because we’ve been working along like busy little bees to increase access to some of our most popular and most accessed photograph collections. These images are available on the Delaware Public Archive’s section of the Delaware Heritage Collection and we’re adding new items monthly!
The Delaware Heritage Collection is an online portal supported by the Delaware Division of Libraries that makes it possible for cultural institutions in Delaware to share items that were previously only accessible in person at those institutions.
Our new landing page on the Delaware Heritage Collection includes a thumbnail image and brief description of each collection. Search all of our uploaded collections on the landing page, or search for a particular image on the collection’s page. If you still can’t find what you’re looking for or have any questions, please let us know!
We recently made the Delaware Development Office (DEDO) Photograph Collection available on the Delaware Heritage Collection. This collection features photos taken between 1941 and 1973 that document state development activities like festivals and community celebrations, construction and opening of the Delaware Memorial Bridge, and political campaigns.
In addition to the photograph collections, we have been busy scanning and uploading maps, State Manuals, Legislative Rosters, and agency Annual Reports to make these frequently-requested collections available to researchers.
