Facilities Management Fire April 30, 2002

Did you know that every year in May archives across the county participate in activities to protect their institutions from disasters?  Did you know that the Delaware Public Archives has a records recovery team?  We have helped numerous state agencies, schools, and local municipalities recover their records after disasters not only from fire, but water damage.

Do you have a disaster plan? There are many websites and publications available that can help you get started in creating a disaster plan. Here are a few websites:

For State Government there’s Council Of State Archives

For families there’s the Red Cross

There is also FEMA and Homeland Security

The Delaware Public Archive’s records emergency contact information for state agencies, local government agencies and school districts:  business hours phone 302-744-5000 and after hours contact The State Communications Center 302-659-2341
